Namtumbo District Council has announced four (4) vacancies for Office Assistant/Secretary Grade II as part of its 2026 employment opportunities. Qualified Tanzanian citizens are invited to apply through the official government recruitment system.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will perform various secretarial and office administration duties, including:
- Typing ordinary and confidential letters, reports and official documents.
- Receiving visitors, understanding their needs and directing them to the appropriate offices.
- Maintaining records of appointments, meetings, visitors, official trips and work schedules.
- Locating files and documents required for official duties.
- Receiving and distributing files to officers within the relevant department or section.
- Collecting, maintaining and returning files and documents to their respective locations.
- Preparing agendas and making arrangements for meetings.
- Preparing lists of required office equipment and supplies.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should be Form Four graduates holding a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 certificate in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.
Applicants should also:
- Have passed shorthand in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute.
- Have computer knowledge and practical skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher.
- Possess relevant certificates from a government-recognized institution.
General Conditions
